Catherine's research expertise lies within the field of marsupial biology and management. She brings together multidisciplinary teams to investigate key biological processes that influence the management of free-living and captive marsupial populations to facilitate evidence-based approaches to wildlife management. She is a world-renowned researcher in the specialized fields of wildlife fertility control and kangaroo biology and management.

Catherine's research aligns with the Faculty of Science Research Strengths - Understanding Life on Earth, Healthy Animals , Biodiversity Conservation.
