Carmen Huckel Schneider is Deputy Director at the Leeder Centre for Health Policy, Economics and Data where she is also lead of the Health Governance, Policy and Leadership theme. Assoc. Prof. Huckel Schneider is also Director, Academic Education in the Sydney School of Public Health.
She holds honorary positions as Senior Adviser at the Sax Institute and Honorary Senior Fellow at the George Institute.
Carmen's completed her PhD at the University of Tuebingen researching the legitimacy and stakeholder receptivity of global health organisations. Her current research interests include governance in global health and comparative health systems analysis. Carmen methodological expertise are the use of applied systems analysis and institutional analysis.
Dr Huckel Schneider is unit coordinator 'Health Systems and Financing' and 'Global Health Policy' for the Sydney School of Public Health. She has published on topics of legitimacy, effectiveness and theoretical aspects of health governance as well as health systems and knowledge translation.
Dr Huckel Schneider is currently CI on the NHMRC Partnership Grant �Development and evaluation of regional health care alliances to improve health system performance in New South Wales - Patient Centred Co-commissioning Groups" as well as CIA on the Centre for Research Excellence in Integrating Health and Social Care.
