RESEARCH INTERESTs

Bróna is dedicated to enhancing mental health and wellbeing outcomes of communities and groups who often negotiate disadvantage(s) and marginalisation. She has had the privilege to be involved in projects concerning: carer-support interventions; youth mental health; enhancing wellbeing in rural communities; health service provision to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer communities; and multidisciplinary and supportive cancer care. Her roots are in community health psychology, and as such, her research is characterised by seeking to work in meaningful ways with communities, professionals and services; and often employing participatory and collaborative approaches.
