Professor Paltridge has taught English as a second language in Australia, New Zealand, and Italy. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and written books and book chapters for leading academic publishers.
He has taught postgraduate courses in the areas of second-language teaching and learning, language curriculum design and methodology, research methods, discourse analysis, English for specific purposes, writing for publication, and thesis and dissertation writing.
He has recently completed a book with Sue Starfield titled Change and Stability in Thesis and Dissertation Writing (Bloomsbury2024) and, with Matthew Prior, editedThe Routledge Handbook of Second Language Acquisition and Discourse (Routledge2024).
He is included in the Stanford University list of the world's top 2% most influential researchers.
