RESEARCH INTERESTs
Brad's research program is centered on chronic disease prevention. He does this by designing & testing multidisciplinary innovative solutions, and with strong community engagement.His research and public health activity has included: oral health promotion among refugee/migrant communities in Australia; health of Aboriginal Australians; improving the health of children and older people; improving the health of children in orphanages in India; oral health promotion rural-remote Timor-Leste; and rural/remote health issues. (2) His experience in health services delivery & research has included domains such as: workforce structure, client health outcomes, service accessibility, service quality, service economics, service effectiveness, organisation policy & leadership, and sustainability. In recent times his two research interests have come together more strongly to focus on translational research, working closely with health services delivery, to improve oral health outcomes for disadvantaged and vulnerable groups - particularly in rural/remote areas; by developing and testing innovative integrated and shared models of oral health care. In these areas of research, Brad has both Australian and international experience in leading/managing large primary research studies and health programs.
