Research projects & supervision summary

My principal fields of research are modernist and contemporary literature, and translation studies, with a focus on multilingual writing, translation, and philosophy. I am completing a second monograph on Samuel Beckett, which reads his work in relation to the history of Western thinking about education. My research engages with the archive as both a physical and theoretical space, and I have training in the digital humanities, which I am putting to use as an editor for the Beckett Digital Manuscript Project. My work in translation studies concentrates on how modalities of authorship change within different configurations of translation. This has led me to edit collections on self-translation, collaborative translation, and genetic translation studies. I am also working on the emergence of translation archives and the politics and poetics of collecting translators' papers.
