BIO

Dr. Annie Forster (BSc, MSc, DPhil, AFHEA) - I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate working with A/Prof Tanya Golubchik. We use genome sequencing to study interactions between pathogens and their hosts. My research focuses on developing computational methods for analysing targeted metagenomic sequencing data, enabling the simultaneous detection and sequencing of multiple pathogens and host material. I completed my DPhil at the University of Oxford in 2025, where I investigated how malaria parasites Plasmodium falciparum evolve in response to natural host resistance in sub-Saharan Africa.

I am a member of Sydney Infectious Diseases Institute (Sydney ID).
