BIO
Anna is Senior Lecturer (Digital Health) in the Faculty of Medicine and Health, The University of Sydney. She has spent over a decade undertaking research in healthcare, with experience undertaking projects in diverse fields including health professions education, health services research, implementation science, and human-computer interaction. Anna is an affiliate in the Research in Implementation Science and eHealth Group. She has previously worked as a health technologist and is passionate about understanding how people use technology in personal and professional contexts. She is particularly interested in how health professionals can use digital technologies safely and effectively to support their work. Anna’s has been involved in a number of projects exploring how digital technologies are adopted by the health workforce including patient portals, virtual reality, and Artificial Intelligence. She also investigates how routinely collected electronic health data can be harnessed for secondary purposes such as professional learning, continuing professional development and quality improvement. Anna has a growing interesting in the regulation of digital health after leading a project to explore the digital health regulatory landscape in Australia. She is particularly interested the disconnect between what is regulated and what is used by the majority of stakeholders, and how this hinders the full potential of using digital technologies to support health and health care.
