BIO

Dr Anna Harutyunyan is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Neurodegeneration Pathobiology Laboratory at the Charles Perkins Centre, University of Sydney. Her research investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration, with a particular focus on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and Alzheimer's Disease (AD). With a background spanning neurobiology, bioengineering, and genomics, Anna employs a multitude of omics, genetic modeling and imaging methodologies, to dissect disease mechanisms across molecular and systems levels. Additionally, as a trained data scientist, Anna is developing AI-augmented analytical workflows for large-scale omics and imaging datasets. Through her interdisciplinary approach, Dr Harutyunyan aims to bridge molecular pathology and therapeutic innovation to advance precision strategies for neurodegenerative disease intervention.
