BIO
Andrew is a medicinal chemist specialising in small‑molecule drug discovery, synthetic organic chemistry, and computational modelling. He completed his PhD at the University of Wollongong in 2019 before joining the University of Sydney, where he worked as the Centre for Drug Discovery Innovation Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Prof. Michael Kassiou (2019–2024). During this fellowship, Andrew’s research focused on the design and synthesis of small molecules to support a range of CNS‑focused projects, and he supervised both undergraduate and HDR researchers. Alongside his research role, Andrew held a concurrent appointment as an Associate Lecturer in Chemistry (2023–2025), in which he taught extensively across first‑year chemistry and second‑ and third‑year medicinal chemistry units, and coordinated MCHM3888. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow with MedChem Australia (2025–present), where he co‑leads the medicinal chemistry activities for two translational research programs.
