Research interests are: music and silence (in particular Vladimir Jankélévitch's writing on silence); music and temporality; the phenomenology of performing; embodied musical knowledge; music as mediating our experience of self and of the world, and mediated by our bodies, instruments, historical knowledge, music-theoretical knowledge, etc.; the relationship between theories of music and actually composed/improvised/performed music.
