BIO

Dr Alexandra O'Donohue is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Bioengineering & Molecular Medicine Laboratory at The Children's Hospital at Westmead and the Westmead Institute for Medical Research. She joined the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (Faculty of Engineering) in 2024, alongside appointment of her academic position. Her research focuses on developing treatment options for genetic diseases such as Osteogenesis Imperfecta and the Neurofibromatosis Type 1/2, primarily focused on the use of viral vectors and CRISPR editing technology. Dr O'Donohue is the current chair of the Westmead Research Hub Early- and Mid-Career Researcher Committee and a committee member of the Australasian Gene and Cell Therapy Society.
