RESEARCH INTERESTs

For the last ten years my students and I have been building a computational model of the upstream mammalian visual system. The model is based on known anatomy and physiology; it spans the visual system from the optics to primary visual cortex. Our current aim is to describe mechanisms underlying chromatic selectivity in primate primary visual cortex. The long-term aim is to extend the model along the ventral pathway to inferior temporal cortex.
