RESEARCH INTERESTs

Aldrich's current research is centred on two areas:

- the history of modern monarchy in global perspective, particularly the links between colonialism and both European and indigenous monarchies

- the history of France in Asia in the long nineteenth century

Forthcoming is the co-edited sixth volume (with Cindy McCreery) of The Bloomsbury Cultural History of Monarchy, which covers the twentieth century and beyond, to be published in 2027.
